In recent years, many claustrophobic or overweight patients have sought open MRI scanners as an alternative to smaller, restrictive, traditional MRI equipment. While these open MRI scanners were more comfortable for patients, diagnostic image quality suffered as a result of the lower field strength.

With Access Medical Imaging, patients and referring physicians no longer have to compromise quality and technology for comfort. Access Medical Imaging offers the best of both worlds with the Siemens’ MAGNETOM Espree™ 1.5T open-bore MRI.

The Espree 1.5T MRI offers a wider opening than traditional MRIs, similar to the design of a conventional CT scanner. While the MRI is more spacious, the powerful high-field magnet provides the strength needed to obtain precise diagnostic images. The utilization of this new open MRI technology also means that scans can be performed more quickly, while still producing high quality images not previously available with low strength open MRIs.
